A diverse amount of bird species are attracted to the lagoon, including Black Swans, Pelicans, Black Ducks, Chestnut Teals, Purple Swamphens, Egrets, White-faced Herons and Cormorants. Vagrant species, such as Australasian Shovellers, Pink-eared Ducks and Freckled Ducks visit occasionally.
